Here’s how they work:
Stage 1- Sediment Filter
This is where it all begins. Incoming water is run through this filter to remove tiny particles from your water like rust, silt, dirt, and even insect parts. This helps assure that the water you receive is free of these contaminants and won’t clog dishwashers, ice makers, and even pores in your shower heads and faucets.
Stage 2- Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) Filter
The second filter your water passes through is a GAC filter. The carbon in this filter adsorbs hundreds of chemical-based contaminants including chlorine, pesticides, volatile organic compounds (VOC’s), industrial chemicals, lead, mercury, and benzene.
